Who can use the service
Park & Rev is intended for people aged 18 and over. If you believe someone under 18 has created an account, please contact us so that we can investigate.
Information we collect
We collect information you provide when creating an account and using its features. This includes:
- Account information, including your email address and authentication information used to secure your account.
- Profile information you provide, such as your display name, handle, province, biography, and profile photo.
- Vehicle builds, photographs, specifications, modifications, notes, and business credits.
- Crew ownership, membership requests, roles, event details, invitations, and attendance records.
- Business listings, contact details, locations, categories, logos, and other images you submit.
- Account actions, including the users you block.
- Information you send us when requesting support.
An email address and password are required to register using our account form. Other information is required only where needed for the feature you choose to use. You can browse public content without creating an account.
Other members may provide information referring to you, including photographs or business credits. Contact us if content identifies you without permission or is inaccurate.
How we use information
We use information to create and secure accounts, display profiles and builds, operate crews and events, publish business listings, apply visibility and blocking settings, provide exports, and respond to support or privacy requests.
Information may also be processed where reasonably necessary to investigate misuse, protect the service, or meet a legal obligation.
What other people can see
Profile details, public builds, published businesses, and public events can be viewed by visitors, including people who are not signed in. Business contact details you publish are part of your listing.
Your account email address is not automatically published as a business contact address. Information you include in public text or photographs may nevertheless reveal personal details, so choose what you upload carefully.
Private builds are restricted to their owner through the normal build pages. Event visibility follows the event’s selected access settings.
Blocking limits access between signed-in accounts. Featured Car of the Week stories and their photographs remain visible despite blocks. Blocking does not prevent signed-out viewing of public content or remove copies someone has already saved.
Cookies and account security
The app uses cookies needed for signing in, maintaining your session, and protecting forms against unauthorised requests. Disabling these cookies may prevent account features from working.
Passwords are stored using the account system’s password hashing mechanism. They are not included in data exports.
Hosting and sharing
Absolute Hosting is the planned hosting provider. Hosting providers process information needed to store and operate the service.
Before launch, this notice will identify the confirmed hosting location, relevant backup arrangements, and any applicable processing outside South Africa.
Information you publish is shared through the relevant public features. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or reasonably necessary to address fraud, abuse, or a security incident.
External websites linked from business listings operate independently and have their own privacy practices.
Keeping and deleting information
Account records are kept while needed to provide the service, handle requests, or meet an applicable legal obligation. Expired event records and their cover images are periodically removed by the app.
You can edit your profile, remove your builds, export your account records and stored photographs, or request account deletion through Settings. Crew owners must transfer ownership or delete their crew before deleting their account.
Removing information from the live service does not remove copies independently saved by other people. The retention periods for hosting logs and backups must be confirmed before launch and added to this notice.
Your privacy rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to your personal information, request correction or deletion, object to processing, and withdraw consent where processing relies on that consent.
Use the available account controls or contact [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before releasing or changing account information.
You may also lodge a complaint with South Africa’s Information Regulator .
